Practical answers for parents and students considering DLD

DLD College London is a co-educational, independent day and boarding school for students aged 13 to 19, on London’s South Bank at 199 Westminster Bridge Road, opposite the Houses of Parliament. Below are answers to the questions parents and students ask most often. If your question is not covered here, please contact our admissions team.

Where is DLD College London located?

DLD is on London’s South Bank at 199 Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7FX, opposite the Houses of Parliament and minutes from the London Eye, Westminster, the National Theatre and Tate Modern. Our purpose-built campus is in one of the most accessible and central parts of the capital, so London really is our classroom.

What ages does the school take, and is it co-educational?

We welcome co-educational day and boarding students aged 13 to 19, from Year 9 through to the end of sixth form. Students study together in small classes with a student-centred approach across every stage.

Does DLD offer boarding?

Yes. DLD is the only school in Central London to offer on-campus boarding. Our modern ensuite accommodation sits directly above the school, with around 250 bedrooms, dedicated Houseparents providing 24-hour pastoral care, vibrant social spaces and full-board dining. It is a genuine home from home for students from the United Kingdom and overseas.

What courses can students study?

Students can study Year 9, GCSEs (one-year and two-year, plus BTEC Awards), A Levels and A Level retakes, BTEC programmes including the BTEC National Extended Diploma and BTEC National Diploma, the Foundation Programme, an Academic Preparation Course and the British Boarding School Experience. Modern subjects include esports, media and business, and there are more 19 A Level subjects to choose from.

What are the entry requirements?

Entry requirements vary by course and year of entry. Our admissions team reviews each application individually, taking into account previous school reports, qualifications and, where relevant, English language level. Please see our Entry Requirements page for full details for domestic and international students.

How much are the fees?

Fees vary by course and by whether a student is a day student or a boarder. Our latest fees are published on our fees page.

Do you support international students and visas?

Yes. Students from more than 60 nationalities study at DLD, and we provide dedicated support for international families, including guidance on the UK education system and entry and visa requirements. For full guidance, please see our Visa Support page.

How can we visit the school?

We warmly encourage families to visit. You can arrange a personal visit or register to attend one of our open events to tour the campus, meet staff and students and ask questions in person.

What are the term dates and is there a uniform?

Term dates are published on our term dates page and updated each academic year. Our latest term dates are available here:

DLD does not have a uniform but students are expected to dress in ways that promote positive behaviour and academic effort. Dress and grooming that disrupt the learning process will not be permitted. All students are expected to wear their lanyards at all times.
