About Us

A distinctive, future-focused independent day and boarding school in the heart of London.

DLD College London is a co-educational independent day and boarding school for students aged 13 to 19, located on London’s iconic South Bank opposite the Houses of Parliament. Here, outstanding teaching is combined with one of the world’s most inspiring learning environments, giving students opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.

Students from across the UK and more than 60 countries choose DLD for its personalised approach, innovative academic pathways and specialist support that prepares them for leading universities and the careers of the future.

London is our classroom

At DLD, the city is an extension of the classroom. Located in the heart of Central London, students benefit from learning experiences inspired by the capital’s history, culture, business, technology and creative industries. From world-famous museums and galleries to theatres, financial institutions and global employers, London provides countless opportunities to enrich academic study with real-world experience.

Situated on the vibrant South Bank, our purpose-built campus places students just moments from the London Eye, Westminster, the National Theatre, Tate Modern and many of the UK’s leading universities, helping students develop confidence, independence and a truly global outlook.

Creative, future-focused learning

DLD is designed for ambitious, entrepreneurial and creative students. Alongside traditional academic pathways including GCSEs and A Levels, students can choose innovative programmes such as BTEC Diplomas and the Foundation Programme, studying modern subjects including esports, media and business.

Learning extends beyond examination success. Students develop leadership, creativity, confidence and wellbeing through a personalised education that equips them with the skills needed for tomorrow’s universities and careers.

Experts in university progression

At DLD, every student’s journey is built around their ambitions. Our specialist University Admissions Tutors work alongside experienced teachers to guide students through every stage of the university application process, helping them secure places at leading UK and international universities.

Around 40% of DLD students progress to Russell Group universities each year, while 75% continue to top London institutions including Imperial College London, UCL, King’s College London, City St George’s, University of London and University of the Arts London. DLD graduates also progress to prestigious international universities, with recent overseas destinations including UCLA, Columbia University, the University of Amsterdam and the International University of Monaco.

On-campus boarding in Central London

DLD is the only school in Central London to offer on-campus boarding. Students live in modern ensuite accommodation directly above the school, creating a seamless transition between study and home life. Dedicated Houseparents provide 24-hour pastoral care, while vibrant social spaces and full-board dining create a welcoming community where students quickly feel at home.

Whether joining from elsewhere in the UK or overseas, boarders enjoy the security, independence and convenience of living in the very centre of one of the world’s greatest cities.

A diverse international community

Students from more than 60 nationalities study together at DLD, creating an inclusive community where different cultures, perspectives and ambitions are celebrated. Day students and boarders belong to one of our five houses, District, Jubilee, Metropolitan, Northern and Piccadilly, which encourage friendship, leadership and healthy competition throughout school life.

Recognised for doing things differently

DLD is recognised as one of the UK’s most distinctive independent schools. Praised by The Good Schools Guide as “one of the most unique and exciting schools in Britain”, and featured by Tatler and Talk Education, DLD has earned national recognition for its innovative approach to education.
